After watching March Madness for the entire weekend I'm pretty I memorized the different advertisements on a loop. It actually got so old that sometimes I would just mute the TV during commercials because I couldn't handle watching the ad I had seen 20 plus times again. The reason this is happening is the NCAA is giving its sponsors all the air time during the games to promote because they pay the NCAA money to be corporate sponsors. Also Buffalo Wild Wings has really paid up for the air time it is receiving because they are advertising on legitimately every channel (TNT, TBS, TruTV and CBS) during TV timeouts, and they have a specific overtime campaign for when the games went into overtime. The reason is they want people to go to Buffalo Wild Wings because they are portraying the perfect game watching atmosphere for March Madness. Here are some more observations I had:
-E-Trade came out with a new baby campaign which included a talking cat. The cat eventually gets the baby to "quit" the commercial. They gave a link to check out to see why the baby quit at the end of the commercial.
-Bud Light has come out with these aluminum pints that are re-closable and they are showing a party atmosphere with some EDM music in the background. Bud Light has done this to try to get the college kids who are watching to go out and purchase this during the weekend with the showing of the "good time".
-McDonald's also released a semi new commercial with LeBron James and Johnny Manziel. These two are probably the most marketable athletes when it comes to young adults in the sports world today, so McDonald's using these two (along with Alex Morgan) to showcase their new menu items, especially to young adult men.
-Lastly, The Fiat Mirage commercial was bar none my favorite. I saw this commercial probably 60 times this weekend but I found it hilarious even after seeing it so many times. The Diddy part with the guy at the end saying I want to take Diddy mirage with me was too good.
